Grace

Beside the resisting of temptations, perseverance also implies the accomplishment of one's duty. The constant and strenuous efforts we must put forth in order to fulfil [sic] it will not be made without the power of grace. He alone who has begun in us the good work of perfection can bring it to a happy close. Only he who has called us unto His eternal glory can perfect and confirm and establish us.

Regret

Nothing truly serious; just regretting a decision made in haste.

I cut my hair today; or rather, I had it all chopped off.  I decided I wanted a change, and that I had enough to give to Locks of Love without ending up with a pixie cut.

So, I had the gal chop it off.  It ended up shorter than I was hoping for.  Not a pixie cut, thankfully, but a bob.  A long bob, but still a bob.  And I was not quite ready for it.

My hair was long and nice--it really only needed a trim.  I acted in haste, and now I'm regretting it.

Oh, well, it is just hair.  And thankfully, it will grow back.  My hair grows rather quickly, so it will be long again before I know it.

In the meantime, I'll use it as a reminder to work on detaching myself from the things of this work.

Before (after being "treated" with rag curlers)

After (not the greatest picture, but you get the idea)

  1. You look darling. :) I am partial to long hair but the short looks good on you. Besides, it will grow if you want it back, right?

  2. Thank you, Melody! Yes, the good news is that it will grow back. :) And, I'm liking it a little more this morning; especially since I was able to just get up and go--no need to wash or even comb. That part is very nice!
