1. Prayers needed!!! My dear friend's sister gave birth to identical twin boys via c-section Tuesday. They were 33 weeks and taken early because one of the boys, Carson, has a cervical teratoma (very large and extensive mass on his neck). He is currently in major surgery to remove it; my friend has said that it will be nothing short of miraculous if he makes it through the surgery alive! So, storm heaven with prayers for Carson please! On a happier note, his brother, Kellen, is doing very well! Thanks be to God!
2. It looks like we're going to be moving. I am not sure where or when, but we have decided to return to the oilfield. My husband worked oilfield when I met him and for the first year and some change of our marriage. There is a good chance we will end up very close (or at least much closer) to some of my good friends from our former oilfield life, so that makes me very excited!
3. All I can say is that it's a good thing I don't have to cook my food over a fire. We heat our small home with a wood stove in the living room and it's been cold enough the last few nights to justify a fire. I've barely managed a small one. It's been enough to maintain the house at between 66 F and 68 F overnight, so think it's helped, but I still need to get better at this so as to actually warm up the house in the evenings. :) I had it down pretty well at the end of this past winter, but I'm still remembering all of the tricks.
4. I for one cannot believe Thanksgiving is a mere 13 days away...where does the time go? Sadly, we are not sure if dear hubby will be home for the occasion. There is a chance he will be out of town for work. This would be part of the motive behind finding a new job.
5. I'm going to try my hand at making yogurt and sour kraut. I am very excited! I will try and post about how it all goes! I am also going to use the yogurt to make yogurt cheese (supposedly very similar to cream cheese--I'm excited to try it!).
6. I think I'm a little behind, but I am going to try and make Jesse Tree Ornaments. I know my 3 year old, and the 15 month old for that matter, will really enjoy doing it everyday. Right now, I am planning on drawing and coloring on cardstock and then using Mod Podge to attach them to a piece of wood. We'll see how it goes.
7. I'm working on knitting my hubby a pair of socks for Christmas--I have made him 3 socks in the last 4 years and none of the 3 fit. The first was huge, even for him, and that's saying a lot since he wears a size 14! The second was a tad too small. And the third fit pretty well, and may fit perfectly is I wash it, but I only had enough yarn for the one. And I bought the yarn out in Wyoming about 4 years ago. So, I bought new yarn and this time I am knitting the two socks at the same time, on two sets of needles. I have about 5 inches completed on each sock. I need to spend my evening working on these, especially while watching TV.
Head on over to Jen's for more Quick Takes!
I prayed for the little boy.
