Grace

Beside the resisting of temptations, perseverance also implies the accomplishment of one's duty. The constant and strenuous efforts we must put forth in order to fulfil [sic] it will not be made without the power of grace. He alone who has begun in us the good work of perfection can bring it to a happy close. Only he who has called us unto His eternal glory can perfect and confirm and establish us.

Fall Cleaning Rundown--Just In Case You Were Wondering

My fall cleaning went very well yesterday!  I cleaned for 6 straight hours; I felt so good afterward.  Tired, but good.

In those six hours, I managed to:
  • wash down all the walls and the trim around the ceiling.
  • caulk the corners of the "big room".
  • wash the tops of all my cabinets and caulk the tops where they join the wall (if that makes sense).
  • clean behind the stove and fridge.
  • clean the bugs out of the florescent lights and dust them, too.
  • also put away all of the baby clothes, etc that I have been storing at my parents'; I organized them a few weeks ago and finally brought them over to store nicely on the tops of our closets.
I think that's all.  I feel good about the big room and am just about finished with fall cleaning in it.  There are a few more things I'd like to get done.  I also need to deep clean the kids' bedroom and the bathroom.  But, after the big room, those are looking pretty easy.

On a side note, we went to a different parish today because I needed an earlier Mass than the one we have been attending.  The priest offered Confession right before Mass--it was so nice to do some fall cleaning of my soul, as well.  Thank You Jesus for Your Mercy!
